Dandadan’s universe has grown enormously since the weekly manga began in 2021, and with Season 3 coming in 2027, it’s only getting bigger. A huge part of the series’ success comes from the way it mixes slice-of-life shenanigans with supernatural action, and that combination has resulted in a cast filled with increasingly powerful characters.

Set in a world where ghosts and aliens collide, Dandadan fully embraces the creative potential of its bizarre supernatural power system. Its chaotic adventures through the occult constantly push genre conventions while introducing characters like Momo Ayase and Count Saint-Germain with strange and often unpredictable abilities.

Despite Momo insisting that her grandmother's psychic powers are a hoax, Seiko Ayase’s spiritual powers are the real deal. An experienced medium renowned throughout the paranormal world, Granny Seiko is immensely knowledgeable about yokai and never falters, no matter how terrifying her opponent.

Seiko proves as much the first chance she gets by beating Turbo Granny with a baseball bat to protect her granddaughter from a possessed Okarun early in Dandadan's story. While Seiko can’t tap into the powers of a specific yokai like Okarun and Jiji or use telekinesis like Momo, she can borrow powers from local gods to perform exorcisms and fight evil spirits.

Her domain is usually restricted to Kamikoshi City, limiting Granny Seiko's ability to aid Dandadan's heroes on faraway missions. Nonetheless, Seiko is one of the deadliest known psychics in Dandadan's universe, meaning that most low-grade yokai and superpowered teenagers don't stand a chance against her.

Before Dandadan's Evil Eye took over Jiji's body, he was a yokai born of a neglected young boy's festering hatred. The Kito Family, a ruthless group of recurring Dandadan villains, accidentally sparks the creation of the Evil Eye by torturing a young child before sacrificing him to the Tsuchinoko they worship by regularly supplying human sacrifices.

After the boy's spirit returns to the living world where he originally died, the newly awakened yokai grows more powerful and hateful while the Kito Family continues the sacrifices. By the time Dandadan's main cast encounters the Evil Eye, it has a full set of abilities and a sky-high kill count.

The Evil Eye has the dangerous ability to compel humans to kill themselves, and the deadly yokai only becomes more powerful after taking over Jiji, one of Dandadan's strongest humans. If not for Jiji's training to restrain the powerful yokai dwelling inside him and Okarun's pact with the Evil Eye to its one and only battle partner, this yokai would be virtually unstoppable.

Like most of Dandadan’s yokai, Umbrella Boy once lived as a human. Futa Zuma, Unji Zuma’s good-natured and optimistic brother, transformed into this powerful yokai only after a tragic death, leaving his little brother with the yokai’s abilities. With Umbrella Boy’s power, Unji has boosted strength and speed, plus the special ability to unleash two powerful umbrella attacks in his yokai state.

The Umbrella Boy yokai’s abilities get even stronger when boosted by the Fairy-Tale Card. No longer limited to using the parasol shockwave twice, Umbrella Boy turns into a powerhouse with the added advantage of fighting from the air. The biggest downside of Unji's power is that once he goes through his two umbrellas, the cooldown period leaves him vulnerable until he replenishes his spirit energy.

4. Vamola’s Exosuit Is the Ultimate Space Tech Battle Weapon

The Kur, the violent alien race of conquerors responsible for devastating Vamola’s home planet, are one of Dandadan’s most frightening villains to date. Led by Hatsur, the Kur make a dominating display of force during the Space Globalists Arc when they invade Earth in search of Vamola.

Hatsur’s special ability to carve away, manipulate and store space itself is incredibly powerful, but comes with a weakness that Momo Ayase is daring enough to exploit. The Kur Leader’s skills as a captain are clear from the invasion squad’s brutal execution of their formidable battle plan.

However, Hatsur’s decision to try killing Vamola right in front of Momo is the alien’s final mistake. With a well-placed Moe-Moe Tri-Beam, Momo destroys Hatsur’s Exosuit, effectively ending his reign of terror in Dandadan’s story.

Dandadan’s beloved badass female lead, Momo Ayase, may never have discovered her psychic power if not for her grandmother, a powerful spirit medium. Skeptical of the supernatural until her first encounter with Serpo aliens, Momo awakens dormant spiritual abilities when her extraterrestrial captors make a move to probe her.

When she needs it most, Momo summons all the spiritual wisdom Granny Seiko had ever shared with her to unleash her hidden power for the first time. Momo’s powers take the form of two large arms she can use to manipulate matter around her. She can even save lives with her power by directly manipulating a person's life force, as seen when Momo helps Acrobat Silky fuse with Aira to save her from dying.

Dandadan’s fan-favorite psychic reaches new heights during the war against Kur leader Hatsur, whom she takes out with a Moe-Moe Tri-Beam after a fantastic showing of telekinetic force. Momo is so strong that even Count St. Germain is after them in pursuit of creating ‘The Ultimate Yokai.’

The main antagonist of Dandadan’s Danmanra Arc, the Demonic Fairy-Tale Card, compensates for its physical weaknesses with masterful manipulation. The Fairy-Tale Card triggers painful memories in its targets, making them more susceptible to the yokai's dark influence. In the final battle of the Danmara Arc, this powerful yokai's fairy-tale aesthetic falls away, revealing a walking nightmare.

When under the Fairy-Tale Card’s control, a person can tap into their full spiritual potential, even if it means straining their body to death. Other cards that make up the spirit’s body can also erase people’s senses, like the ability to speak or hear. Taking control of Unji Zuma's body, empowered by the Umbrella Yokai's strength, scales up Dandadan's Fairy-Tale Card to frightening new heights.

Introduced in Dandadan Chapter 120, Count Saint-Germain is an enigmatic character whose true motives, as well as the scale of his power and influence, are still largely undefined. Yet, it's increasingly obvious that Count Saint-Germain, also referred to as Hyper Geezer, is one of Dandadan’s strongest characters.

What Dandadan's author has made clear is that Saint-Germain, the primary antagonist of the Kozuka Knives Arc, is currently orchestrating the capture of the abilities needed to unleash the full power of the Demonic Fairy-Tale Card. Saint-Germain, formerly disguised as Professor Sanjome at Momo's school, distributes Kozuka Knives to those he enlists to help hunt down spiritual powers.

With these blades, the user can extract special abilities from their targets on the condition that the enemy overtly yields. Count Saint Germain's background as an affiliate of the Black Paladins makes his character even more mysterious and intimidating, and his victory over the Fairy-Tale Card is an impressive feat that Dandadan's main cast didn't seem capable of winning alone.

Turbo Granny, the yokai that set Dandadan into motion, is a spirit known for her superhuman speed and foul mouth. Although downgraded to a Lucky Cat mascot with only a fraction of her power early in the series, full-power Turbo Granny is one of Dandadan's strongest spirits. Anyone foolish enough to race Turbo Granny risks being cursed, which is exactly what happens to Okarun.

Turbo Granny grows even more powerful when fused with spirits such as the Earthbound Spirit Crab featured in Dandadan Season 1, as is the case with many of Dandadan's yokai and aliens. As the manga goes on, Turbo Granny scales up like crazy after revealing the ability to travel through power lines in an instant.
